This site is a companion site to Shaiva Yoga Ashram Journal, which elaborates on the subtlest aspects of Tantra from a traditionalist view, from a valid acharya or teacher of a valid sampradaya or oral lineage, and also promotes the writings of Shri Kali Publications. This site is also from a traditionalist view, but aims to place Tantra in its modern context. It also hopes to dispel common misconceptions on Tantra and reveal it in its proper light. Once Tantra is correctly understood then the benefits of practicing Tantra become known. Current retreats for both those wanting to learn and those wanting to teach Tantra will be posted regularly on both sites. Both sites will criticise past and present Orientology or Oriental Studies as this is partly where misconceptions on Tantra arise. Also Orientologists are not usually practitioners of Tantra and therefore not initiated in the esoteric science. Their views on Tantra are from intellectualising it. Tantra or any religious science cannot be understood through intellectualisation, though one must have an understanding of the philosophy behind the practice.
